More speed, more stability

Gather more light, freeze action with faster shutter speeds, isolate your subject, create truly beautiful bokeh. With a fast f/2.8 aperture and 6 stops3* of in-lens Vibration Reduction, this second-generation S-Line lens gives you every advantage in challenging conditions. For even greater stability, Synchro VR delivers maximum stabilisation at the centre and edges of the frame with compatible Z cameras.4

Greater agility for video

If you’re shooting with a gimbal, the balanced internal zoom keeps the centre of gravity consistent so you can change focal lengths without needing to recalibrate your rig.

Supercharged AF for everything you shoot

Equipped with our best AF system yet, the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S II is quicker, sharper, and so much quieter than its predecessor. You’ll experience thrilling new levels of performance.

The speed and silence of Silky Swift VCM

Responsiveness gets a massive boost thanks to the sheer velocity of the Silky Swift voice coil motors, plus a high-performance guide mechanism and an AF actuator. Despite the speed, audible noise and vibrations are significantly reduced.

The precision of Nikon’s multi-focusing system

With multiple groups of lens elements moving in synchronisation and the new optical construction, precision has improved significantly. Portraits to action, get ready for next-level resolution and sharpness even at close distances.

All-new optical formula

Less weight, more detail. Fewer elements are used to greater effect in a streamlined optical design that takes sharpness, bokeh, and anti-glare performance to new heights.

Super ED and SR glass

The adoption of high-dispersion SR glass as well as Super ED glass effectively counters chromatic aberration and colour fringing. Skin tones will look natural and colours are faithfully reproduced.

Aspherical lens elements

Two dual-sided aspherical lens elements are included to correct sagittal coma and spherical aberrations. Precision crafted with smoother surfaces, these new elements shape the light beautifully.

Meso Amorphous Coat

Nikon’s high-performance anti-reflective coating eliminates incidental light coming from any direction, giving this full-frame telephoto zoom lens exceptional control over ghosting and flare.

ARNEO and SI coatings

ARNEO coat plus multilayer Super Integrated coatings combine to further reduce ghost and flare effects. Your shots will be crisp and clear, even with a direct light source located within the frame.

Rounded 11-blade aperture

The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S II features an upgraded 11-blade diaphragm. Combined with the new S-Line optical design, you can expect softer-looking bokeh and beautifully rendered point light sources.

Smoother bokeh, natural gradation

The bokeh produced is now so finely graded from the focal plane that you’ll be able to create images with a more natural sense of depth. With subject isolation this good, you may even find yourself composing scenes in entirely new ways.
