Move from a true circular perspective to a frame-filling image with Nikon’s first fisheye zoom. The advanced optical construction ensures you won’t sacrifice quality for versatility.
Two fisheye effects. One lens.
The creativity of a fisheye and the versatility of a zoom. Move from an 8 mm circular to a 15 mm full-frame fisheye image with ease.
Capture a full 180° angle of view (horizontally, vertically, and diagonally) at the 8 mm end of the focal length range. Fill the frame with a 180° diagonal angle of view at the 15 mm end of the range.
Bend the lines
Expect superb high-resolution images with edge-to-edge sharpness even at the widest f/3.5 aperture setting.
Three extra-low-dispersion glass elements minimise colour fringing caused by lateral chromatic aberration. Two aspherical lens elements greatly reduce coma and other types of aberration. Nikon’s Nano Crystal Coat virtually eliminates ghosting and flare throughout the frame, even in backlit situations.
Sharp up close
Maintain image quality when you close in on your subjects. Benefit from a minimum focusing distance of 0.16 m.
A minimum focusing distance of 0.16 m and a magnification ratio of 0.34x let you shoot subjects approx. 3 cm away from the surface of the lens without worrying about deterioration of peripheral resolution.
Professional AF performance
Ultra-fast, ultra-quiet autofocus performance and stable exposure control.
Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM) enables ultra-fast, ultra-quiet autofocus performance with seamless manual override. The lens boasts a dedicated focus ring for manual focusing. The electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism of the lens ensures consistent exposures.
Sturdy and durable
Robust dust- and drip-resistant build for reliable shooting in challenging weather conditions.
The weather-resistant design prevents dust and water droplets from damaging the lens. Nikon’s fluorine coating actively repels water, dust, and dirt without compromising image quality.
Combined lens hood and cap
Stay agile. Respond quickly to shooting opportunities by attaching or removing the lens hood and/or the cap in one swift movement.
Easily switch between using the hood when shooting a full-frame fisheye image and removing it when you want to capture a true circular perspective. The cap connects to the hood and the hood connects to the lens: you can attach or detach the hood and lens cap together, or attach or detach the lens cap only.
