Get the most from your digital camera with Nikon School; a venue for photography training that aims to educate and inspire photographers. Nikon School photography workshops cater for every level of photographic ability, whether you are new to taking photographs, a keen amateur or a professional. We offer a wide range of workshops suited to individuals wanting to learn more about photography or expand their creative horizons. You will improve your photographic skills, develop your eye for a photo and learn to take control of your camera. All camera brand users are welcome.

The Nikon School workshops are a mix of easy to understand theory and hands-on practical assignments. We have small groups of up to 12 delegates to ensure everyone can benefit from our expert tutors knowledge. From understanding your Digital SLR and lenses; from image editing to HDR montages; from location fashion shoots to capturing candid street portraits; from making HD video films to inspiring landscapes or wildlife photography; our workshops cover a variety of skills and subjects.Nikon School workshops take place either at the Nikon Centre of Excellence, London or on location, please check the specific workshop for ability levels and further details.

About Nikon School

Most workshops last for one day, beginning at 10:30 and finishing at 16:30. Courses run from Tuesday to Saturday, please see individual courses for details.

Our training courses and seminars have been designed to accommodate a specific number of delegates. Because of this we have implemented a minimum number policy and courses can only be confirmed once the minimum number of bookings has been made. Please read our booking terms for further details.

Nikon Centre of Excellence

The Nikon centre of Excellence is our showroom and photography training centre located in the heart of London, 2 minutes from Oxford Circus Station. We are situated in Fitzrovia, home to numerous media and creative agencies and many photographic galleries.

The Centre of Excellence houses both an inspirational showroom and a state of the art photography training centre and studio. The studio area has a large shooting space with dedicated professional lighting, as well as different shooting sets, such as a London brick background. We also have a sofa area and a meeting space. Our vision is to make the Nikon Centre of Excellence the trusted knowledge source for high quality photographic training and education through our workshops, masterclasses and seminars.

Booking terms

1. Minimum Number Level

Nikon Training Seminars and Courses have been designed with a particular group size and competence level in mind. In order to ensure that the training is as successful as possible for all concerned, we have established a strict Minimum Number Level policy.

If the seminar or course you have booked on has not yet reached the Minimum Number Level:

  1. your Credit or Debit Card will be debited in the normal way
  2. but, in the unlikely event that the minimum number level is not reached within 7 calendar days of the advertised Seminar or Course date, you will receive an e-mail from Nikon UK confirming that the Seminar or Course has been cancelled and your Credit or Debit Card will be credited with the full amount paid. For courses running overseas we will contact you 8 weeks in advance to the course start date.

You will at that time be advised about alternative Seminars or Courses that you may wish to attend.

Cancellation Policy

Should you wish to cancel a booking, for whatever reason, we ask that you provide us with as much notice as possible. For some external courses that involve overnight stays we may require a deposit that will be non-refundable if a cancellation is made less than 3 month in advance to the course start date. If a deposit is not needed for an overnight stay course, we will need to be notified of cancellations 30 days in advance to the course start date for the course fee to be refundable.

2.1 Cancellation within 7 days of making a booking

Should you wish to cancel within 7 days of making your booking (except for courses which, at the time you book them, are occurring within the next 7 days) you may do so by sending an e-mail to training@nikon.co.uk.

2.2 Cancellation 7 days after making a booking

In all other cases, if you cancel a booking within the time periods set out below, the following cancellation fees will apply and will be debited from your Credit or Debit Card to cover administration costs:

  • 3 Months prior to Seminar/Course date = 10% of fee
  • 2 Months prior to Seminar/Course date = 20% of fee
  • 1 Month prior to Seminar/Course date = 50% of fee
  • Within 7 days of Seminar/Course date = No refund available.

To cancel a Seminar or Course booking, please send an e-mail to training@nikon.co.uk.

In exceptional circumstances when a last minuet cancellation is made within 7 days prior to the course running date we can offer you a transferal, for this there is a £20 transferal fee.


Except where stated otherwise, all prices are inclusive of VAT.
We may offer discounts on some courses, only one discount offer can be used at any one time, offers are not stack-able.

All persons participating in courses, events and/or activities do so at their own risk. Participators should ensure that they have no physical or health problems, which might make such participation dangerous or hazardous. Nikon training does not support or recommend any third party products or software. Delegates are advised to undertake their own risk assessments and due diligence as to the suitability of third party products to meet their requirements. We may also occasionally take images of the courses taking place and use these for publication or promotion of Nikon School Courses. Further, Nikon UK Limited and its employees, agents or representatives will not accept liability for any loss or damage to a participator's property.

When do you run courses and seminars?

Courses and Seminars are usually available from Tuesday to Saturday. Please see individual courses for dates and timing details.

Are refreshments provided?

Refreshments are provided during the course of the day. Full day courses have lunch provided unless otherwise stated, please check individual course details for further information.

I have special dietary requirements. What shall I do?

Please contact the training department on 0330 123 0934 at training@nikon.co.uk at least seven days prior to your training day, to discuss your requirements.

What do I need to bring with me on the day?

Please bring your camera with a lens, fully charged battery and a memory card with you. Suitable clothing for outdoor shooting exercises should also be considered.

How do I ascertain if a training course is suitable for me?

How many delegates are there on each course?

Depending on the course the number of delegates varies between 6 and 12.

Can you tell me more about the course content?

Can I register to receive more information on forthcoming training courses?

You can register to receive our newsletter, containing information and discounts on our training courses.

Why has my course been cancelled?

We require a minimum number of delegates to run our courses. In cases of poor booking numbers, we cancel the course a week before the advertised date. Please see our Booking Terms for more information.

I'm an NPS/NPU member. Do I get a discount?

You can get a 10% discount on courses running at Nikon School in Oxford Circus if you are an NPS or NPU member. Please bring your membership card with you on the day to claim your discount. Please note that NPS/NPU discount can't be claimed in conjunction with any other discounts.

How do I transfer to a different course?

We require a minimum notice period of 5 working days if you wish to change the course you have been booked on, any requests that are made within 5 working days of the course will incur a £20 transferral fee. To change your course please contact us on 0330 123 0934 or training@nikon.co.uk.
