Designed for discerning stargazers, the WX series’ phenomenal optical performance takes you to deep into the starry sky, revealing fresh details and colour nuances. A Field Flattener Lens System gives outstanding edge-to-edge clarity, while Abbe-Koenig prisms offer a brighter field of view. The finest of materials ensure striking visuals, with three ED glass elements per tube and a high-quality multilayer coating on all lenses and prisms.
See the stars come to life through exceptional optical design and craftsmanship.
You’ll experience stargazing like never before, with stunning sharpness across a super-wide field of view. Enjoy a sweeping view of star clusters or galaxies while individual stars can be seen as sharp points. A Field Flattener Lens System compensates for the curvature of field, ensuring the same crystal clarity of vision from centre to periphery. Each tube features three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements for a contrast-rich and high-resolution image, compensating for chromatic aberration so you can see the delicate colour differences of the stars all the way to the edge of your field of view. A high-quality multilayer coating is applied to all lenses and prisms, giving uniformly high light transmittance across the entire visible range for a more natural and clearer view. Leading-edge technology and excellence of materials combine to bring you a breathtaking vision of the night sky.
Journey far into the depths of the starry sky with a stunningly bright field of view. The total reflection and high transmission rate of Abbe-Koenig prisms ensures the exceptional level of brightness needed to complement the outstanding optical achievement of a super-wide field of view. Phase correction coating on the Dach sections of the prisms compensates for phase shifts of light when reflecting inside prisms, so you’ll always experience high-resolution and high-contrast images. Discover more than you ever thought possible when you raise your eyes to the sky with the Nikon WX series. You’ll feel like you’re spacewalking into the stars, looking out on a glistening view of a wide-open sky with no sense of frame to limit your vision.
To ensure a superb viewing experience for everyone – whether they wear glasses or not – Nikon WX engineers overcame the extraordinary design challenge of offering long eye relief coupled with a super-wide field of view. WX 10x50 IF binoculars have an apparent field of view of 76.4° and an eye relief of 15.3 mm. The advanced optical design ensures a spectacular view is also a comfortable one.
The Nikon WX series is crafted to make viewing as comfortable as possible, even for long periods of observation. Magnesium alloy ensures the body is sturdy yet lightweight, while the turn-and-slide rubber eyecups make viewing enjoyable – however long your stargazing session may be. Six clicks on the eyecups enable easy positioning of your eyes at the correct eyepoint, so you’re ready to experience a new world of stargazing straight away. Click intervals become finer as the eyecups are extended, for easier adjustment by those who don’t wear glasses.
