The Business of Wedding and Portraiture: A 3 day residential Course
The beautiful and historic town of Woburn is the venue for this unmissable three-day residential workshop led by multi-award winning wedding photographers Julie Oswin and Oz Kharawala. You'll stay at the charming 18th century Inn at Woburn, where seminars will take place, and travel to off-site locations for photo shoots, including bridal shots and bride and groom portraits. The course will cover three days' tuition (9:30 - 20:00; 18:30 finish on the last day, three nights' accommodation (20th-22nd June) and all meals. This exciting course has been designed to improve delegates' photographic skills as well as providing an in-depth understanding of running a successful, home-based photography business. Multi-award winning wedding photographers Julie Oswin and Uzair Kharawala will be guiding you throughout the three days and providing lighting tips and techniques to enable you to create superb images, as well as sharing their personal insights into the skills and techniques they've used to develop highly successful photography careers. Through a combination of demonstrations, theory and practical sessions, you'll learn how to get the best out of your equipment in a range of locations, and the best out of your marketing to grow your business.
As well as learning how to create simple and stunning images during the three-day course, you'll also get up to speed with marketing, business management, book keeping, creating promotions and offers, PR, branding, increasing your profits, creating Google campaigns to drive traffic to your website and blogs and lots more insider tips from experts.
On day one, the course will introduce delegates to wedding marketing and networking, including how to brand and promote your business, followed by bride and groom posing and lighting techniques in the afternoon workshop. Day two will concentrate on preparation for the wedding, editing images and workflow. The afternoon workshop will allow you to experiment in portrait shooting, using off-camera flash and ambient light. On the final day, you'll be focusing on the business side of photography, including exploring social networking, blogs and Google ad words all in order to drive traffic to your website. Before the evening meal each night in the Inn's award-winning restaurant there'll also be one-to-one sessions for portfolio critique and questions with the course trainers.
