Aims
To ensure a practical understanding of the major flash unit features when combined with a modern Nikon SLR camera. These include TTL, Auto and Manual flash modes and their operation. Also covered are synchronisation speeds and their creative use, how to balance flash with existing light for fill flash, or use it as the dominant light source when using more automatic features. The day is designed to significantly shorten the learning curve for those wishing to use a SB-600, SB-700, SB-R200 or SB-800/900 Speedlight for the best effect, and is packed with useful hints and tips to make flash photography easy.
Content
Starting with the basics of power, dedication and synchronisation, we move through practical demonstration and supporting theory to TTL control for images predominantly lit with flash. Then comes the more subtle application of flash balanced with other lighting for fill-in effects. Some ways to adjust the flash output to personal taste are also shown. Delegates will have the opportunity to capture some simple images on the day. Detailed course notes supplied.
